Our drainage team has been working hard in Mount Albert, and the shared photos are just a small snapshot of the complex job they wrapped up. What looks straightforward from above is the result of careful planning, technical skill, and a coordinated effort across multiple teams.
Drainage project key steps:
- We excavated for a 1800mm wide concrete chamber.
- Used the rock breaker to break up magma.
- Stepped down the sides to maintain safety and prevent collapse as the excavation exceeded 1.5 meters.
- Levelled the base and carefully lowered the chamber into place with the help of Hirepool.
- Completed three 200mm concrete cores to create the required openings.
- Intorock Drilling Ltd thrusted three holes and executed a thorough water test to ensure the required flow rate for the soakage test.
- Finally, the lid was placed and the area was backfilled and compacted.
A big thank you goes out to Origin Build for the smooth collaboration and for being great project managers!
